#NOLAGROWN, a New Orleans-based gaming culture lifestyle organization, announces The Reboot, a gun trade-in activation event with Councilman Freddie King, the New Orleans City Council, and New Hope Baptist Church. This initiative offers a free Xbox One S console for every handgun traded in, with no age or quantity restrictions.
This event responds to the recently enacted Louisiana permitless carry law, effective statewide on July 4th, 2024, and in New Orleans from August 1st, 2024. NOLAGROWN believes this law will disproportionately negatively impact the New Orleans community.
Complicated problems require creative solutions. The Reboot gives us the ability to meet the community where they are and offer viable alternatives to living a lifestyle that would lead a young person to feel like they need to use a gun to resolve life’s issues.
NOLAGROWN is dedicated to promoting safe and positive community engagement through gaming and esports. The Reboot continues the successful NOLAGROWN x Intel Corporation “Do Something Wonderful in New Orleans” campaign, an extension of the partnership with Generation Esports.

6pm-8pm: Gun Trade-In, offering Xbox One S consoles for handguns.
The community is encouraged to support this initiative.

NOLAGROWN is a New Orleans-based organization integrating gaming culture with community engagement. In partnership with the City of New Orleans. Operating within the nonprofit Unchained Realities, NOLAGROWN runs esports and gaming programs within the city’s recreation infrastructure, fostering a safe and positive environment for youth and the broader community.
